That is the recent history of Olympus India. Best among the best. The foundation stone of Olympus global was laid in 1919, in Japan, starting as manufacturer of microscopes and thermometers. The first Olympus camera came in the year 1936, the Semi-Olympus I, which became quite a popular Olympus camera among the masses. However, the first quite romantically technical and innovative camera came in the year 1959, named well as Olympus Pen. With this launch, Olympus came in direct competition with the biggies of photography world, Nikon and Canon. After much research and hard work for development, Olympus brought out cameras with high resolution; in the year 1996, Olympus launched a 810,000 pixel digital camera; next year, 1997, came another high resolution camera, one with 1.41 million pixels. It was sheer hard work by Olympus that the innovation of Four Thirds system happened. The first Four Thirds system standardized camera by Olympus was launched in the year 2010, a DSLR camera E-5. Olympus has not thought of a halt since ever.
