Sony CyberShot DSC HX10V is a pocket travel and ultra-zoom camera packed in a compact body. This is equipped with 18.2 megapixel CMOS sensor camera with an ultimate high speed auto-focus to click super steady images even while capturing moving objects. Basically, it is said to be an updated version of HX9V in looks and specifications but sits under HX20V camera that features 20x of optical zoom. You can catch the details of every shot with its super 16x of optical and 32x of clear image zoom profiled in this ultra-versatile camera. Its high speed continuous shooting, full HD video recording with stereo sound, GPS and quick Auto Focus keeps HX10V in limelight. You can always click good quality, blur-free and clear images with its improved high-speed auto focus along with backlit CMOS sensor which accurately captures moving objects. It comes with Extra High Sensitive Technology that is automatically activated while shooting in low-light conditions as quoted by the Sony website.

It provides a good level of grip, especially when combined with the thumb grip on the backside of camera to hold the camera strictly in position. This metal finish, modern looking camera comes in variety of attractive colors that is black, white, red and silver. The battery and memory compartment presents at the bottom is lockable with a plastic latch. Focus and Face Detection

Sony Cybershot DSC HX10V has an amazing TTL Contrast Detection auto-focus feature that combines multiple technologies namely Exmor R CMOS sensor, BIONZ imaging processor with a newly developed lens. BIONZ image has advanced auto-focus function that makes you shoot the scene in just 0.13 second. Its focusing modes include spot focus, auto focus, face detection, AF tracking, etc. Focus at full optical zoom is also very quick, which is a good consideration while opting for a 16x zoom.

Lens and Image Stabilization

Sony Cybershot DSC HX10V has Sony G Lens with primary RGB color filter, which has a focal length of 4.28 - 68.48mm (35mm Equivalent to 24 - 384mm). It features an Optical steadyshot image stabilization with active mode that sets the image sensor as such so to ensure that the image remains as steady as possible. It compensates the camera shake by controlling camera movements in both vertical and horizontal directions. The lens produces well-exposed images with bright pleasing color reproduction and also the lens performs well in both wide and telephoto zoom expect for very little and occasional distortion. Dynamic range is reasonable, and can be extended by using one of the multi-shot HDR modes on the camera. Macro performance of the lens is good enough to allow you to take a picture with the subject just 5cm from the front of the lens even slight zoom-in is also possible. It offers the ISO range starting from ISO100 till 12800 along with the auto ISO mode. ISO100 images show the lowest amount of noise, with good color. Auto White Balance (AWB) feature of the camera performs quite well under tungsten lighting giving a satisfactory result. The camera has three panoramic shooting modes, standard, wide and high-res panoramic. To take photos, you can simply click the button and pan the camera around and the camera stitches instantly - works well for landscapes, although it may struggle with moving subjects. There are a number of picture effects present in the camera such as HDR Painting, Rich monochrome, Toy Camera, Pop Colour, Part colour (Red/Green/Blue/Yellow), Miniature, Soft High-Key, Watercolor, Illustration.

Screen and Menus

Sony Cybershot HX 10V camera showcase 3 inch of LCD screen with image display resolution of 921,600 dots and video resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There are round and smaller menu buttons that can easily be operated with thumb, although for detailed menu you have to access setup menu. The setup menu includes all the basic menu options such as shooting, main settings, memory card, and clock. The design and layout of Sony HX10V is quite similar as of HX7V. One additional features of this camera is the selection of settings in Auto mode that enables you to adjust the white balance, exposure and allows you to add creative filters.
