Nikon a leading camera manufacturing company has proudly unveiled Nikon CoolPix S6000 which is offering the amazing 7x zoom which lies somewhere in between either in dimensions or cost and is best suited for those who like things balanced. You now have the flexibility to adjust your focus on the target with 28mm equivalent wide-angle starting point, when you physically can't get closer to the object. This compact camera offers a speedy shooting and saves your valuable time. Because it is a compact point-and-shoot device, photos are best viewed at their original sizes. Though it features high resolution Nikkor ED glass lens which are helpful in enlarging and cropping the images for online sharing and printing purposes.

Further, the device clicks images with a 14.2 megapixel digital camera that is powered by a 1/2.3-inches of CCD image sensor and supported by a 7x zoom NIKKOR lens with 5.0-35.0mm focal range, f/3.7-5.6 aperture range. It offers up to 2x digital zoom and an amazing 2.7-inch (230k-dot) TFT LCD display with anti-reflection coating. It comes up with a 32MB internal memory with SD memory cards support, and offers up to 3200 ISO sensitivity. This compact camera is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery which is capable of taking 210 shots when charged at its maximum. Battery can be charged either by connecting via USB to a computer or with the included wall adapter. It measures 97.0mm x 55.5mm x 25.0mm and weighs 156g. It is blessed with a square-shaped body with metallic finishing for an upmarket look. Talking about the camera controls, the device features a flash which is located at the top left and can be blocked by fingers if carelessly handled. The menu system is located straight forwardly and is divided into three tabs - Shooting, Movie and Setup. On the bottom, one can find the battery and card compartment guarded with a locking door. Next to it is a Mini-USB/AV port. A covered Mini-HDMI port is on the right side of the camera for connecting to an HDTV or monitor. A shooting mode button is given which is labeled as "Scene" with a playback button to its right while the center consists of a four-way control pad with an OK button (or Rotary Multi Selector, called by Nikon). Settings like image navigation, setting the self-timer, adjusting flash and exposure compensation, and turning on macro focus can be adjusted using this control pad. In all, the buttons are arranged in a standard and user-friendly way.
The device is featuring two Auto modes- First is the Nikon's Scene Auto Selector, which effectively adjusts settings based on six common scene types. If the scene doesn't matches to any of these six, then it is set to default as general-use Auto. Next is an Auto mode which is like the program AE modes on other point-and-shoots. You can also adjust ISO, white balance, and exposure compensation as well as light metering, auto focus area and mode, and continuous shooting modes. It is also providing 14 selectable scene modes and all the scenes are standards like Portrait and Landscape. It is also featuring Panorama Assist which lines up a series of shots that can be bound together with the help of a software that comes along with it. Next comes the Nikon's Smart Portrait System, which combines blink detection, smile-activated shutter release, red-eye fix, skin softening, and Face Priority AF features into one mode. If you like to shoot close-ups, you can enter the Macro mode via the control pad. Lastly, the device also features Subject Tracking, which means- When the focus area box is placed on the subject and OK button is pressed, then the camera will move the box with the subject.
Nikon Coolpix S6000 is a stylish, slim and user-friendly compact ultra zoom camera which performs above average and is worth its cost.
