7th July 2010 : Launched in the second quarter of this year, Canon PowerShot A810 is pretty much the most affordable model in the entry-level A series announced by Canon today. While the A810 will only set you back with some rupees, it has got a lot in common with its more expensive siblings such as a 16megapixel CCD image sensor, 720p HD video recording, smart Auto (which automatically chooses from 32 shooting modes to capture great photos in any lighting conditions), a 28mm wide angle lens, and a Help Button (new for this year) to bolster the confidence of anyone not at home with electronic gadgets. The features of the device include:

Canon PowerShot A810 Point & Shoot comes with a 6.8 cm TFT LCD monitor that works with approximately 230000 dots and gives almost 100 percent coverage. It has five levels for brightness adjustment level. The 16 megapixel camera comes with 1/2.3 type CCD image sensor and has primary colour filter type. The image processor is powered by the DIGIC 4 with iSAPS technology. Canon PowerShot A810 Point & Shoot comes with various flash modes including Auto, manual flash on/off, slow Syncro. It also has the facility of red eye reduction and flash exposure compensation alongside face detection FE and smart flash exposure. There is external flash facility with canon high power flash HF-DC1 and canon high power flash HF-DC2. The device comes with various shooting modes including Smart Auto (32 scenes detected), P, Live View Control, Digital IS, Portrait, FaceSelf-Timer, Low Light (4.0MP), Fish-eye Effect, Miniature Effect, Toy Camera Effect, Monochrome, Super Vivid, Poster Effect, Snow, Fireworks, Long Shutter, Discreet. Various modes in movie include P, Live View Control, Portrait, Miniature Effect, Monochrome, Super Vivid, Poster Effect, Snow, Fireworks, iFrame Movie. There  are numerous drive modes Single, Continuous, Self-Timer. Various still images formats supported by the device include JPEG compression, (Exif 2.3 [Exif Print] compliant) / Design rule for Camera File system, Digital Print Order Format [DPOF] Version 1.1 compliant while movie formats include MOV [H.264 + Linear PCM (2 channel monaural) ]. The menu supports languages like English, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Chinese (traditional), Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Korean, Greek, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Thai, Arabic, Ukrainian, Romanian, Farsi, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian. The device is compatible with operating system including Windows 7 SP1/ Vista SP2/ XP SP3, Mac OS X v10.6 – 10.7. Various accessories offered by the device include soft case DCC-490, Battery Charger Kit CBK4-300, Ni-MH Batteries NB4-300, AC adapter kit ACK800 (DC Coupler DR-DC10 also required).  Canon PowerShot A810 Point & Shoot comes backed by the imagebrowser EX software for browsing and printing. The device comes with SD, SDHC, SDXC memory card that makes sure that the user gets to keep loads of data without worrying about the memory space running out. For computer interface it has Hi-Speed USB (MTP, PTP) dedicated connector (Mini-B compatible) while for others it has A/V output, dedicated connector (PAL/NTSC). The device comes with a playback zoom of Approx. 2x – 10x and a self timer of approx.  2 or 10 sec. or Custom. The custom setting allows the user to modify the time at which the camera will click the picture.
