Canon EOS 550D has released its latest range of SLR in the EOS camera series named as Canon EOS 550 D Kit (EF S18-55IS). This Canon camera offers an 18 megapixel optical sensor and enables a user to shoot at a Full HD resolution (1920x1080). The camera uses a 22.3mm x 14.9mm CMOS sensor powered with a DIGIC 4 processor. The Canon EOS 550D uses the standard 3:2 aspect ratio. It has dimension of 128.8mm x 97.5mm x 75.3mm and weighs approximately 475 grams. The Pentamirror Viewfinder cover up 95 percent frame and offers 0.87 x magnifications. This Canon DSLR has a 3-inch TFT color liquid-crystal screen with 1,040,000 dot pixels. The LCD is dual anti-reflection and anti-smudge, and has up to 10x playback zoom.
The EOS 550D supports various shooting mode and scene mode such as Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night portrait, Flash off, Movie, Program AE (P), Shutter priority AE (Tv), Aperture priority AE (Av), Manual (M), and Auto depth-of-field. Canon EOS 550 D is ergonomic and well built in all, with a metal frame on making it suitable for handling. In this review, the lens mount discussed is Canon EF-S 18-55mm, well this lens mount is mostly or maybe totally plastic exception is the glass mounted on it. Canon EOS 550 D is a first in its DSLR’s class to have an exceptional full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution video recording feature. By an easy switch of the mode dial to instant movie recording you can start/stop making videos.
